Denison Culture Survey: Denison Leadership Survey

The Denison Cultural Survey is a 60-item survey that enables leaders, employees and key stakeholders to understand the impact of their organizational culture on performance. Organizations use the Denison survey to

  • Assess the general strengths and weakness of an organizational culture
  • Benchmark their culture by comparing to higher or lower performing organizations
  • Understand the impact of culture on organizational performance

The model is based on four cultural traits, Involvement, Consistency, Adaptability and Mission. Dr. Dennison arrived at these indices through his research on the relationship between organizational culture and organizational effectiveness. He discovered a persistent relationship between the above four traits and effective organizations.

These cultural traits are expressed in management practices and activities that come from and reinforce the core assumptions and beliefs. Positive correlations were found in all four quadrants with a wide range of subjective and objective organizational effectiveness indicators such as ROI, Product Development, Sales Growth, Quality, Market Share and Employee Satisfaction. All four quadrants were positively correlated with ROA.
